Nicolas Müller-Lorenz

Nicolas Mueller-Lorenz was born in Graz. Since 2008, he has been working with different music theatre and arts companies and groups around Austria and in Berlin as director’s assistant, production manager and artistic director. Over the years, he has worked with leading representatives of music theatre in Europe, including singers such as Camilla Nylund and Günther Groissböck, directors such as Peter Konwitschny and Stefan Herheim, and conductors such as Simone Young and Zubin Mehta. In 2020 and 2022 he worked as an assistant to André Heller in the Berlin State Opera’s highly acclaimed new Rosenkavalier production. From 2015 to 2019 he worked as a social pedagogue with asylum seekers at Caritas Austria. Since 2020, he has been the production manager at Österreichischer Musiktheaterpreis and since 2021 the deputy artistic director at Musikfestival Steyr. Since fall 2024 he has been working at University of Graz in the joint research project Sound as Score. He studies Musicology in Graz and Cultural Management in Vienna.
