Gestural mimesis in musical composition and performance

Theodor Adorno developed a rich and profound reflection on the relationships between composition, score and interpretation. Starting with the texts dedicated to the interpretation of the music of the Vienna School in The Faithful Répétiteur and the notes for a Theory of Musical Reproduction published posthumously, we will discuss questions of play, mimesis and musical corporeality that could contribute to thinking about audio scores.
